my name is Christian. I'm a developer at flinc and responsible for the platform called instantnavi.com.
Today, I have to announce that we will shut down the platform in the near future.
The main reason is the fact, that I never had/took the time and focus to explore the full potential of the platform. I only want to ship good products, products I am proud of, but - sadly - instantnavi could not grow to be one of them.
There was a strong idea behind instantnavi: a free and open web-based navigation system that enables web developers to bring their skills and creativity to navigation systems. And I'm happy to say that this idea still lives on.
We open sourced the core of the instantnavi navigation systems:
If you feel like building your own - give it a try.
I'm here to help wherever I can.
We want to make sure we don't break your webpages and apps, so we plan a slow fadeout.
The instantnavi platform will shut down on December 1st 2015.
However, to not break your links afterwards, there will be a read-only replacement site that will offer links to alternative solutions like Google Maps, to show the directions to the place of your navigation. This site will be up for a couple months, to give you enough time to look for alternatives or remove your integrations.
I'd like to thank you for being part of this experiment.
